Mark Moorhead, president of The Travel Agent, recently took a trip to Adventures On The Gorge, an all-inclusive adventure vacation resort in West Virginia.  Adventures On The Gorge offers a variety of outdoor activities and a wide range of accommodations, allowing each guest to choose their level of adventure.

Mark, his wife, his two sons, his son’s girlfriend and her two brothers stayed in a cabin with three bedrooms and a loft.  The cabin also featured a private hot tub and fire pit, perfect for relaxing.  After spending time outdoors all day, Mark and his family were happy to have somewhere they could go that felt like home.

On day one, the group headed to the river for white water rafting.  This all-day event sent the group twisting and turning through rapids along the river with beautiful scenery.  The resort offers different rafting trips for all ages and levels of experience and difficulty.  Mark’s son’s girlfriend and her brothers had never been rafting before, so this was an exciting adventure for them and was almost everyone’s favorite part of the trip.

Mark’s favorite activity was the zip line.  The second day of the trip, the group sped across the gorge on zip lines that offered a birds-eye-view of the surrounding forest and mountains.  Some of the lines send riders going at over 55 miles per hour!

At the end of each day, the group relaxed at the cabin, cooking dinner over the open fire and sharing time together.  “It was a bonding trip that connected two families,” said Mark of the experience.

In addition to white water rafting and the many zip lines, Adventures On The Gorge has plenty of activities for all interests, ages and experience levels.  Some of these activities include paintball, horseback riding, caving, ATV tours, Jetboats, rock climbing, team building activities, challenge courses, fishing, an outdoor swimming pool and plenty of trails for hiking and biking.

Adventures On The Gorge offers a variety of accommodations for all levels of adventure and group sizes, from something as simple as campsites to as luxurious as large family homes built to accommodate up to 20 people.  Other accommodations include platform tents, simple cabins and luxury cabins.

There are also plenty of delicious restraunts on site, and many available packages include meals.  Each restraunt offers its own unique cuisine and atmosphere.
