The Hotel Hassler in Rome is the iconic Roman hotel!  It sits  atop the Spanish Steps with a spectacular view of the landscape of Rome.  This 96 room hotel opened in 1883 and was partially demolished and reopened in 1939.  The hotel has been a host to a wide array of celebrities, dignitaries and royalty.  Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly spent their honeymoon at the Hassler.  The Beatles, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and Pablo Picasso have all stayed here…..and that is just the tip of the iceberg!

At the Hassler, you’ll find walk-in closets, rooms with either Classic or Contemporary décor and your own private balcony or gazebo. The colors were elegant with a bit of contemporary flair!  I loved the black and white color scheme in some of the rooms!!  The rooms come with the amenities one would expect from a five-star hotel including mini bar and high speed internet connection.

The Hassler’s Michelin-starred sixth-floor restaurant, Imago, has breathtaking views of the Roman skyline. Can you just imagine dining here overlooking the city??  Head chef Francesco Apreda’s upscale interpretation of regional Italian cuisine is simply divine!!

The Views…..oh my goodness the views!  From the Hassler, one can see the Spanish Steps, the Ancient part of the city and a view of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica.

Recently, when I was in Rome, I visited the Hassler and spent time with the hotel’s sales manager viewing rooms, public spaces and restaurants.  The elegance of this hotel felt both luxurious and welcoming.  The vintage details had me snapping photo after photo.  It was quite a pleasure to spend time here! I felt as if I was in the Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck movie, Roman Holiday!!

Can you just imagine yourself sitting here at the bar after a day of sightseeing, sipping on a refreshing cocktail……..

The Virtuoso Amenities for 2013 include an upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability, continental breakfast daily, $100 US Food and Beverage credit per room, fresh fruit basket, daily newspaper, 2 bottles of mineral water and complimentary high-speed internet access connection in room and public areas.  These amenities are exclusive to guests at the hotel who are clients of Virtuoso Travel Agencies.

The next time you are in Rome, You must stay at the Hassler!
